When the Liberals, the MSM and the rest of those with hurt feelings understand that people who voted for Trump were not looking for a robot, a political puppet, or even a role model maybe they will stop screaming “why” and “how could you” and realize that not everyone sees the world the same way.  Many, like myself, are Pro-Life and would do anything we could to reduce, if not eliminate, the ending of innocent lives. We felt we needed to strengthen our military, gain more clout around the globe and eliminate politics as usual. We wanted an outsider with a business mind to get people to find common areas to work together and make good deals.  We want our police to understand we appreciate them, our veterans to understand we are indebted to them and to understand that just because some of us may have white skin we are not automatically racist.  All the noise that the Anti-Trump folks make is just that, irrelevant nonsense. So Mr. Trump tweets, he speaks his mind, is not always scripted and sometimes lets his emotions out. Wow, that sounds like most of us. We do not look at the Office of Presidency as a King, as a higher power, or a deity. It is a job to work for the American people. He is not doing it for recognition, money or fame, he already had them…but to make a difference and bring his business abilities to Washington.  So instead of crying in a corner and wondering how you are going to survive the next 8 years, get up each day, thank GOD for your life, be grateful, respect others and make a difference.

Hypocritical Hollywood to judge others!

As I caught a few minutes of the Golden Globes and heard the likes of Meryl Streep and others continue the “Hollywood” rhetoric towards our new President I would like to respond to all the so-called celebrities that feel they are better and morally superior to our next Commander-in- Chief.  Many of these same people have no problem appearing in movies, TV shows, or singing songs that promote immorality. Some will be in despicable sex scenes, will portray characters that cheat on their spouses, take illegal drugs, use foul language and commit hideous crimes. Many movies and songs have to have a rating to only allow adults to watch or listen. These celebrities will claim it is “art” but will have no problem promoting the immorality of our society if the price is right and they can become famous. You have to be very naïve to think that the “art” in which they receive their income from is just entertainment and has no bearing on our society.  Many actual crimes have been committed after the person saw a similar act in a movie.  Many of these “celebrities” also promote the moral demise of our society by publicly showing us their personal life. Whether it is the divorces, the drug addictions, the wild parties etc. they all have influence over the younger generation.  We are a free country and everyone is entitled to earn a living how they want but before any stone is cast one should look in the mirror and see how they are influencing the world around them and how much damage they are doing.  These celebrities may be good at their craft but many will cause more harm to our society than any politician ever will. So instead of judging others, how about using your talent to promote family values, good morals and positive images?  Last I checked “Glitz and Glamour” is not a moral standard.

Happy New Year! More than just words.

We wish each other “Happy New Year”, and these shouldn’t be words that are just meant for being polite. In any given year, or day for that matter, we find ourselves facing challenges, dealing with stress, or having to make difficult decisions. We often have to deal with the loss of loved ones and seeing turmoil both within our own family, community and around the world. In spite of what is thrown at us, we all have the ability to find peace, bring joy and share love. The recent losses of both a dear family friend and my cousin reminded me that for whatever time we have on this Earth and no matter how bad our moments may seem we can still make the world a better place. A smile, a hug and a genuine interest in caring for others can make a difference. Each of us controls what we do and how we react and with the Grace of GOD we know that we can be forgiven when we make mistakes. Our own lives are but a blip in the history of mankind but we have the opportunity to make it mean something and to positively affect all the tomorrows that lie ahead. I can only imagine what the world would be like if we each are able to find reasons to be happy and to share the love and joy that GOD has given us with others. So to all my friends, family and acquaintances I wish you a very Happy New Year!

Time to Change the Narrative for the Next Generation.

The media will tell us that we are a divided nation. Over the past decade there certainly were events, both political and social, that showed the many differences in ideology and thoughts that make up America. However, if there is one thing that the great people of this nation can agree on is that we are a better country when we think of others and not just ourselves. We Americans are a giving people, have always been the first nation to lend a hand to others in need and in local communities all over people come together when tragedy occurs. I believe it is time for the next “revolution” in this country. Not political or one based on skin color or religion but one of caring and love. What change would our country go through if every citizen challenged themselves to do one extra nice thing? This could be as simple as buying an extra can of food at the store and bringing it to the food shelter or buying some flowers and randomly drop them off at a hospital. Some can stop buy one of the local senior centers and play a game or talk with some of our wonderful citizens that have earned the right to be respected and be given dignity. We can offer to mow someone’s yard that is sick or walk their dog. What about handing the school bus driver a little thank you note for getting our children to and from school safely…Kindness does not have to be big but it certainly should come from the heart. History has shown that those who are recipients of kindness, including given a helping hand, go on and become some of the greatest givers and teachers of charitable, unselfish acts. We also know, those who are hurt or  abused and victims of other bad activities many times grow up and repeat those behaviors. It is time to change the narrative. The truth is you do not have to be wealthy to be kind. You do not need a Harvard degree to help others and you certainly do not need to be affiliated with either political party, or a supporter of a particular politician to set an example for our future generations. If we, as American people, help each other and think of being kind and loving instead of divisive not only will our nation be stronger but our children will have a different narrative to grow up in and our country’s future will be in a much better place. It is time to Think Kind, Think Love, Think GOD.

Veterans Day is a reminder of what unites America !

Veterans Day is a great reminder to all of us of what truly is important, especially during this post-election season.  The American Dream exists because we can look forward to tomorrow. We can choose our future, we can worship without fear, we can feel safe in our own homes.  None of this would be possible if not for the Men and Women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.  Throughout the World people dream of freedom. The American Soldier continues to fight for all people, all nations, and all cultures that want to be free.  There is no greater sacrifice than risking one’s own life for another and our Veterans, as well as those currently serving in the Armed Forces, have continued to exemplify what true heroes are generation after generation.   The idea of giving, volunteering and putting country, community and others ahead of our own individual wants and needs is a lesson that All Americans should embrace. Soldiers don’t stand side by side only with those who share the same political, social, economic & religious views. Soldiers are united for a bigger cause. Does it matter which candidate someone voted for if people are working together to feed the homeless or helping the disabled or volunteering at a senior center? If we as a nation want to truly honor Veterans we should all look to give and help others in whatever way we can. Our differences will become less important and our country will become more united. Thank you Veterans for Not giving up on what America stands for, especially when many find it easy to abandon our fundamental values.  May God continue to bless all the Men and Women who have served in the Armed Forces.

Regardless of Election, GOD is in Charge.

On November 9th, 2016 the sun will rise over the United States of America and GOD will still be in charge. No matter who wins the Presidential Election ½ the country will feel happy that their candidate won and the other ½ will feel angry… regardless of the Electoral College the popular vote typically is within 6-8% difference so no matter what, there will still be division. After each election politicians talk about healing and working together. ..Which typically only lasts until the first bill is brought up in Congress. This election has brought much to the forefront. Beyond the name calling from the candidates and heated conversations amongst friends and family members, it has taught us that our nation has many things to worry about. Besides foreign nations and terrorist groups that want to destroy us we also have many within our own country that want to destroy our foundation. We, as a country, seem to have forgotten that The American Dream, the reason why so many come to this country, is because through all of our problems and disagreements, we always stick together when we need to and find ways to work through our differences and prosper. The post 9-11 days showed that most Americans looked at our nation as a Family and Helped, Hugged and Loved one another regardless of race, religion or political affiliation. That American Spirit did not last and the division came back stronger than ever to the point where we are now. Politicians have done a terrible job in keeping our American Family together. There will always be political, social, and economic differences. People have different thoughts and ideas…we will never all agree, we are not supposed to..GOD did not make robots, but he did make us in his image to Love, Respect and Cherish each other. So as we move forward we need to always remember that Faith in our Creator is part of the foundation of our nation. If we are going to survive as the Greatest Nation on this Earth we can start by taking a step back, look at our fellow Americans and appreciate who they are regardless of who they vote for. GOD will continue to take care of us if we do not forget His teachings and remember why we were created in the first place.

Questions a real reporter should ask Hillary Clinton

Question #1

If you were President and your Sec. of State was investigated by the FBI for actions that could have risked secrets and security of the United States and their reason was it was more convenient to have an e-mail server at home and they had never informed you as President they were doing this, what would you do? Reprimand? Remove from the position? Let it go? What kind of leader of people would you be?

Question #2.

Would you as President appoint a cabinet member or Supreme Court Judge whose spouse was accused of lying to Congress, stripped of their ability to practice law and has had multiple decisions over their lifetime that question their morality.

Question # 3

The last 2 Presidents have not had the ability to get Congress to work well together. Political parties and the country are more divided than ever.  Donald Trump criticizes you and your decisions but you, Sec Clinton, criticize and insult his supporters and those that don’t support you. How can you possibly feel that if elected you would be able to reach out and get these Americans and Congress to work with you and support your decisions?

Both you and your running mate have made the statement that you feel the United States is safer now than 8 years ago yet the majority of people feel otherwise. Do you feel you know more than the American people? You use the Iran deal as the reason you feel we are safer yet they continue to supply money and arms to terrorists so in reality how successful was that deal?

Question # 5

You continue to shrug off your email situation because to your knowledge they were never hacked. Yet we know that the DNC and many from your campaign have been hacked. Shouldn’t the fact that they could have been, be a concern? It seems you have a history of shrugging things off if you are not proven guilty not the fact that you are in the situation in the first place.

Question # 6

Both you and your husband when questioned by Congress used words such as “I don’t recall” ” I don’t remember” and of course the definition of “Sexual Relations”. In both cases you used what you knew were legal answers that are hard to prove perjury. Basically giving an answer without answering the question. One of your platforms is to revise the criminal justice system. Do you feel your knowledge of the law allowed you to answer those questions the way you did while the average citizen would have answered “yes or no”?  In most cases “I don’t remember or don’t recall” is not a defense.

Clinton’s Tax Hypocrisy !

Clinton’s argument regarding Trump’s taxes is naive and another reason why she should not be President!

When an individual owns a business they have many more taxes than an average worker. Not only do they pay taxes on the profits of their business and any income they may take out as an employee, but also taxes such as Payroll and Property just two mention two. Although Clinton wants to argue that Trump may or may not have paid Income taxes some years, or that his % of Income tax in others is lower than some, she fails to mention the payroll and property taxes that he pays each and every year. The IRS is complicated and needs to be changed but it is the law. (To my knowledge, Clinton had never proposed any changes to the tax code when she was senator. She only seems to talk about it when she is trying to get elected). Trump has used the IRS Codes to take deductions for his business just as all individuals and business owners do with their taxes. In years when his company may have lost money he was allowed to carry over losses to other years to reduce taxes. I am sure the Clinton’s, as well as their wealthy donors, have used the IRS codes to take tax deductions at various levels. However, we should not leave out the fact that Trump and his companies have paid more in Payroll Tax and Property Tax then most people will earn in a lifetime. A big portion of Payroll Tax funds the unemployment system which then helps those people who are not able to find a job. Trump Industries also has offered retirement benefits to their employees which is not a requirement. For anyone that has filed and used unemployment benefits or may in the future one question I would ask is which of the two candidates has helped put food on your table when you were in need? For Clinton to degrade Trump for using the Tax Codes and Laws that are in place, in which she has been in a position to change over the years and has never done so, is another example of her hypocrisy.

As the first debate is upon us and the election of our next President is less than 50 days away just some thoughts regarding the State of our Country. It is sad to see the violence in the streets of our great nation. When Americans attack Americans we lose every time. Everyone has their opinion on what causes these types of escalations. Some may cite excessive police force, others might look at disrespect for law and order. There are some that may blame it on the economy or the justice system etc. What is undeniable, no matter what side of the fence you are on, no matter what color of your skin or economic standing, is the fact that many people in America are angry.  Between politicians, journalists and the media our society consistently hears about other people’s faults, their mistakes and the blame is put elsewhere. I have not heard over the past 8 years and very little during this election cycle about the importance of Faith, Family and Honor. When we use the guidance of what our Creator has given to us, we find we have a lot more in common with one another than we have differences. When we emphasize the importance of family and individual responsibility we learn a sense of belonging and self-worth. When we learn to respect others and think of helping our neighbors and our community before ourselves along with remembering all those that have sacrificed to allow us to live in this great nation, we become a more unified country.  Each of you have the ability to change the narrative before the election. Each of you have citizens that listen to the words you speak and will follow your leadership. If our nation will continue to be in existence and be able to defeat those that want to destroy us like ISIS and other terrorist organizations we must first become more unified and look at ourselves as Americans, not White Americans, not Black Americans, not Hispanic or Asian Americans, etc. It is not the color of our skin or what building we worship in that makes us Americans. It is what is in our heart and the respect for each other and our nation that makes us Americans. I urge all 3 of you to take these 50 days and make a difference. It is the Legacy of our Nation that is at stake, which is more important than any individual.

What we have learned 15 years after 9-11

911-logoAs we approach the 15th anniversary of 9-11 and the significance in American History we can reflect on not only the events on that day but the aftermath and how our beloved country changed. Prior to that tragic day our country was increasing in its political divide. The presidential election of 2000 had many Americans blaming the election process, the courts and the media for the eventual White House occupant. What was a country of political differences became a country of political anger and hatred.

However, on that shocking and somber day America realized something else. We came together and watched the events of that Tuesday morning unfold before our eyes. We saw planes take down buildings. We saw our defense headquarters being attacked. We saw the fear and horror in people’s eyes. We also saw leadership and we saw heroes such as the first responders and the many passengers on flight 93, as well as all those that remain nameless but thought of others before themselves during that tragic day. The days that followed changed America. People were waving the American Flag, had flags attached to their car, attached to their homes, on their lapels. Being an American was not about the differences we had but the bond that we all shared. We had seen a country that had evolved since the 1700’s into one of the strongest, most economical, free societies that was the envy of the rest of the world and on that fateful day we were being challenged. Our patriotism was stronger than ever as was our resolve to find the culprits and bring them to justice. Our Nation changed but we accepted the longer lines at the airport. We accepted the larger presence of police at events. We expected that life will always be a little different but it was all to preserve the American Dream and a Nation that would continue to change the world. We were not Black, White, Asian, or Hispanic. We were not Rich, Poor, Unemployed or Educated. For the days and months after 9-11 we were Americans, just Americans. We hugged each other, watched out for each other and did whatever we could to help our fellow Americans. We also prayed. America turned to each other and to GOD to move forward and try to continue with our lives in spite of the loss of so many and the changes to our daily lives as we had known it. The sad truth is that the further and further that tragic day seemed to be in the rear view mirror and people’s lives returned to somewhat normalcy we also forgot about being Americans. We returned to labels, to classifications and to blaming others instead of helping and doing our fair share.

With the growth of social media it became much easier to distribute information, both truthful and otherwise. We saw terrorist groups use social and mainstream media to spread their message of hate and we as Americans grew in anger, not only towards these groups that want to destroy our way of life but to each other. Today there is anger that many citizens have towards one another because of financial differences, political differences or lifestyle differences. Also, there is anger between Americans because of culture, race and religious differences that has grown to a level not seen in a very long time. If the day in which thousands of American lives were lost and many, many others were affected both during and for the years after, it can teach us that America is not about everyone agreeing. It is not about everyone looking the same, earning the same or sounding the same. It is about America working together to protect our freedom. It is about America working together to help each other and about America working together to keep God in our lives. If we promote the good in people and the good in America, the terrorists do not win. If we love one another, respect one another and work together in spite of our differences than the terrorists do not win. If we stick to our resolve and never forget what being an American is and always honor those that fought for and allowed us to live in this great nation, then the terrorists cannot win. On this 15th Anniversary we need to go back to hugging our neighbors, waving our flag and being proud of America. In spite of its challenges, we need to be resolute to never stop doing what makes America great….if we do this, terrorism WILL NEVER win…. God Bless the United States of America.
